Nancy Bown is a wonderful person who has committed her life to the dogs of Walton County. She goes above and beyond as a certified dog trainer to make sure that all the reasons that dogs end up in shelters can be avoided. Through her charity, Dog-Harmony, she works tirelessly with rescues, spay and neuter programs, micro chipping, and education of children. One of the major reasons that a dog ends up in a shelter is because of a bite. Nancy taught 400 children how to prevent dog bites last month and will do another 600 children this month. When she takes in a rescue, each dog is her priority Even to the point of taking them to her home on weekends so they won't be alone Until the perfect family is found. Then she offers her services as a trainer to make sure that the pup and new family are a perfect match. Nancy currently drives a Mazda that is falling to pieces. It has been dog chewed, had fundraising event materials carted in it, and is on it's last legs. The charity, Dog-Harmony, does not have enough money currently to buy a new vehicle. I would love to give Nancy a much deserved new car! She goes above and beyond to care for the forgotten dogs of Walton County!
